Stef and Fraser chose the hills above Lyttelton Harbour for their engagement shoot, a spot that gave us sweeping views of the coastline and a chance for them to simply be together before the whirlwind of the wedding day. Captured by Koru Photography, a Canterbury engagement photographer the session was relaxed, with no timeline to stick to, and that freedom allows space for natural connection and genuine portraits.

Engagement sessions create space to relax in front of the camera and to get used to the rhythm of having portraits taken. When the wedding day comes around, that familiarity makes everything smoother — just like it did for Stef and Fraser, whose portraits felt natural and effortless, leaving them free to enjoy the party that followed.
